St. Francis de Sales School is a Roman Catholic School. All of its teachings are in accordance
with the spiritual and moral standards of the Roman Catholic Church. It is the philosophy of this
school that all students should be concerned with their spiritual, mental, physical, social and
educational growth. This is paramount so as to instill in our students Christian principles and
values that will enable them to take their rightful places in the Bahamian society and the world
at large.
Mission Statement
For every difference that makes us unique there is a common thread that connects us all.
We share the need for home and community and for love and respect. May these common threads
form a beautiful world in which all people and all cultures are honored.

“True stars
always shine the brightest – Unknown."
On April 27, 2012 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held its 15th Annual Model
United Nations Session (MUNS) sponsored by Rotary Club International in Nassau,
New Providence. It was held at the Wyndham Nassau Resort. The Model United
Nations Sessions is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to
educate students about current events, topics in international relations,
diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. This year’s topics were “The
Euro-Crisis – Regional or International Reform Needed?” and “Democracy in the
Middle Easy – Challenge and Course” for the morning and afternoon session
respectively.
Participating schools
from Abaco were St.Francis de Sales School which was assigned the country
Germany and S.C.Bootle High School which was assigned China. The students had to
thoroughly research their country’s position on each topic in order to
effectively debate the topics in each session. The morning session consisted of
all
countries present (which included Saudi Arabia, Iran, United States of
America and France among numerous others) being put into their respective
caucuses to debate the topic separately and come up with a draft resolution.
These draft resolutions were then presented to the General Assembly and
critiqued by the judges. Afterwards, a representative from each caucus met to
negotiate a final resolution to be adopted by the mock General Assembly.
